·BBC's The Office·

If any of you have not seen BBC's The Office, please do yourself a favor and run out to buy the DVD's. I realized today that it is, in fact, without a doubt, my favorite TV show of all time. It seriously has to be the best thing ever created for television. If you can't understand the funny accents, it has subtitles. Do anything you can to watch it. Honestly, it's the best. Buy now, thank my later.

·Near Breakdown·

Yesterday I went home and nearly had a breakdown. I was choking back tears just on the drive home. Yesterday was just stressful. Stressful because I didn't really have much to do and yet, things were just absolutely crazy. My boss and Bitch Prof were in quite the mood and ripping everyone new ones right at my desk. Fortuantely, I didn't do anything to piss them off, but they were yelling at each other and everyone right at my desk. Then they'd want to see something, and they'd bark at me to print them out something or to find a certain file or whatever. Ugh. It just wasn't pleasant.

Given my fragile emotional state as of late, it was a bit more than I can handle. These past few days I've been pretty much in a depressed funk anyway. Everything is ok, I guess. I'm just overwhelmed. My job sucks, my business is taking forever to get going, I suck at keeping a clean house, and I'm just tired. I wish I could just outright quit this job, take two days off to just veg out and sleep, and then get cranking to get the business off the ground by August. Unfortunately, there's a thing called money and needing it. Yes, we have enough money to survive many months without pay, but is that money I really want to squander when I don't know how much time it's going to take the business to become profitable?

Ugh. I'm just emotional. I can't even use PMS as an excuse. I'm just feeling overwhelmed and worthless. I wonder why I care so much about anything. I wish I could just drop out of life for a bit. If it weren't for the people around me, I probably would for a little while. It seems ridiculous that I have all of these material things and all of these people who love me sometimes.

·Exhaustion·

I feel exhausted. I need a break. I wanted to sleep in so badly this morning that I decided to take a shower at 8pm last night so I could have an excuse not to shower this morning and set my alarm 30 minutes later. I'm just drained. I'm exhausted emotionally. I've been so busy for a long while, and I'm not even beginning to put in the hard work I need to yet. I want to just shrug everything off and sleep until next week. I want to quit this job already so I don't sit here for nine hours while the life drains out from me. I want to get this business off the ground already. God I hate money right now.

Amen sister! I love my job....really I do, but wouldn't life be grand if we could sleep in and not worry about money? I would love to be a stay at home mom with trips to the zoo and the park and shopping and lunch with the girls

why can't I have the "good life?"

·Doldrums·

I hate this part of the year. No good sports. I mean, there's MLB baseball. I'll watch a little bit here and there, but the season is so long that I hardly care about regular season games. College and NBA Basketball are done. College Baseball ended just this weekend. Football seems so far away. I miss football.

·Marathon·

Thanks to Jay and Erin's fabulous stories, I suppose, I had a dream that I was running a marathon. It started at my high school, and there were a ton of people there with whom I had graduated. The gun sounded, and I started jogging. Part of the course went through the inside of a mall. One of the guys from high school was sitting at the food court and told me he'd buy me a slice of pizza. For some reason, I thought this was just fine. I sat and ate a pizza in the middle of a marathon! When I was done and got up, I realized I was completely naked and had run everything so far naked. I tried to keep my cool and pretend like that's what I meant to do, because what kind of idiot just forgets to put on clothes like I just did? I pretended it was a statement I was making. You know, running naked. Umm...yeah. So I just ran off. It wasn't too much longer until the finish line. I crossed it, still with no clothes on. I was amazed no one was making a big deal out of the fact I wasn't wearing any clothes and figured that it must be common among marathoners to run naked, even though I didn't see anyone else at that one. The marathon itself seemed to fly by, but my time in the end was 7 hrs. Very bizarre dream.

·Running Man·

There is a guy who runs along one of roads closest to my neighborhood who is quite the character. I see him running more days than not. He is obviously not right in the head. He looks to be in his early 40's with half an afro. Half, because the front part is balding. Super, super skinny, probably from all the running. So this street is HIS street. All he does all day is run up and down the street in his tiny, 70s style running shorts. He makes me smile. I love seeing him because for some reason, he really loves running up and down that street. If you make eye contact with him, you get either a wave, a peace sign, or a fist in the air. He's on a mission to run. The best is when I'm driving by just as he's getting to the corner where he turns around. He gets to the corner, and he has triumphed. Both fists pump up in the air in victory. He does a little victory circle, gives a few peace signs to any other cars enjoying his display, and then turns right back around to run back down the street. He's crazy indeed, but a good kind of crazy. People walk by him and they are greeted with a quick little peace sign before he's zipped right past him. Even driving by, I always make sure I get my little peace sign from him.

·*Sigh*·

I need to get out of this funk. I'm in this really depressed state right now, and I just need to get over myself. I have so much crap to do. So much. I completely wasted the day yesterday, and I can feel myself wanting to do the same thing today. I called the guy who is selling me the machine yesterday, but that's it. I have to get moving on designing the website and make the decisions on everything connected to it (merchant account, shopping cart, etc.).

The good news: three day weekend coming up. I get to see a ton of family, including my little godson, Robert. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures.

·Nice Visit·

Yesterday something happened that scared the crap out of me. I mean, it knocked me out like a knee to the stomach. It was something I thought would never happen to me and something I hope will never happen again. I felt like I was living someone else's life. I felt so far away from everything. It's amazing how one little thing can shake you to your very core. Honestly, I've never been so afraid in my entire life and had to act like nothing was wrong. I felt so lonely and distant from everything around me. God, I can't explain it, and I can't go into it, but dear Lord it's going to take a while to get it out of my system. Whenever I think of it, my chest gets tight, and my skin starts tingling. It's just terrible, but I need to get over it.

But OTHER than that, the weekend was very nice. I always have a great time with the in-laws, even if it is a lot more work. Saturday we went to the Butterfly Rainforest at the Museum of Natuarl History. It is absolutely spectacular. We had such a wonderful time there. We then took a stroll through the botanical gardens. It was suprisingly not very hot a all. Well, it was warm, but certainly much cooler than normal for Florida in June. Yesterday we went tubing down the Ichetucknee River. It was so lovely. Florida nature at it's finest. Crystal clear water winding gentle around the cypress trees. Just beautiful.

·What Snapped?·

Apparently, Tom Cruise has done more research than my husband working on his doctoral dissertation. All of these years and degrees later, all Andrew had to do was be educated by Tom Cruise. If only I had known before we invested all this time! ...Or maybe Andrew is somehow wrapped up in the conspiracy and is purposefully corrupting the children he sees!

When did Tom Cruise go this far off the deep end? Was he always this insane or is this relatively new? I remember when I was in middle school thinking he must be most amazing man on the planet. Now, I don't think he himself believes he's even from this planet (something about aliens living in our bodies or something). I think he's the one in serious need of some anti-depressants. Every time he's been anywhere lately (which is often!), he's either maniacally giddy or belligerently defensive.

Katie, I get that he's hot. I get that we grew up around the same time when everyone wanted to marry him. I get that if you have a low self-esteem that it's cool to have someone hot and famous gush over how "amazing" and "incredible" you are every hour of every day. Is it really all worth it, though? Geez. I hope you dump his ass as soon as you get the jump start to your diminishing career that this PR stunt is obviously giving you. I can't tell if you are crazier than I gave you credit for or more crafty than you appear.

Oh, and Mel Gibson is another one who suddenly became psychotic. All of a sudden, we hear he's working on Passion of the Christ, and he's on interviews talking really, really fast, blinking really hard, and darting his eyes all around the room. Perhaps Andrew needs to dump his Ritalin studies and start researching Hot-Hunks-of-the-80's-and-90's-Turn-Insane-in-the-New-Millennium Syndrome.

·How 'Bout Them Gators?·

Gators Baseball is now in the College World Series for the first time ever. It's been exciting to watch all of these playoffs. I knew they were looking good, but I didn't think they'd make it this far. I was so stressed out yesterday during the 9th inning. Exciting! Can't wait to watch the series.

The in-laws arrived yesterday. They're always fun. I was stressed out about making the beds, having enough clean towels for everyone, and cooking dinner, but it all turned out nicely. I never cease to be amazed how long it takes to get ready for a proper meal. Usually, I just throw some food on a plate and Andrew and I take it to the coffee table. When we have guests, though, I bring out a tablecloth, placemats, napkins, napkin rings, color coordinated serving plates and bowls, serving utensils, silverware, color coordinated dinner plate and salad plate, cups, wine glasses, a bottle of wine, and a big pitcher of ice water. It always takes so much more effort than I expect, and we always end up eating a cold meal. When will I learn to start setting the table earlier?

·Ichetucknee·

I'm trying to figure out some fun plans for the in-laws during this visit. Last time it was just Andrew's parents and it was raining the entire time. We were fine staying in that time. This time, though, his sister is coming, and it'd be nice to do something more interesting than just sitting on the couches chatting about birds or politics. I was thinking it'd be fun to head to St. Augustine for a day Saturday or Sunday, but it's so friggin' hot and humid out there that these Northerners would surely shrivel and die (they think it's too hot in NC sometimes!). Now I'm thinking that the Ichetucknee River would be much more fun. Just north of here, there is a series of about a dozen cold water springs that feed into this winding river. It is so stunningly beautiful. The water is crystal clear (fresh spring water!) and you can rent a tube and just float lazily down the forest with a canopy of trees hanging overhead. I've only done it once, and I've been excited to do it again. I just hope they brought their bathing suits. If not, back to square one. The only interesting things to do in Florida in the summer revolve around water. If not, you might as well save yourself the agony and stay inside.

I'm preparing myself to become a wretched sweaty mess when I come to Florida in a few weeks. The only problem is that it's 85 with no humidity and gentle bay breezes out here so I'm having a really had time imagining what oppresive heat is gonna feel like.

I still think that I am gonna LOVE Florida though!! I'm so excited to see you!!!!

·My Uterus Hates Me·

I think my uterus hates me. I think it's using this time of the month to try and rip itself out and run away from me once and for all. At least that's what it feels like. Last night, I was actually blacking out a bit and everything. Actually, if it were to run away, I don't think I'd miss it at all after the past 24 hours. It's putting me so on edge that even my own hair touching my face makes me want to scream and rip it out.

What a lovely time for my in-laws to visit! They're getting here around 6pm. I somehow managed to clean the guest bathroom last night. I still have to sweep and mop. Andrew said he'd do the rest. Thank God. Although, for the first time in a while, the house actually hasn't been so bad so that if they were to have dropped by last night, it wouldn't have been completely embarrassing. While I was sick from March through May, the house had fallen into complete disarray and filth, and I was afraid I'd never be able to reclaim it. I'm glad to see that I don't have to freak out anymore when someone is coming like I did before. I felt like my own home was my dirty little secret that no one should find out about. That designation has been relagated back to its rightful owner, the bedroom, as has been the case my entire life. Anyone planning on seeing my bedroom must give me at least a weeks notice. i think that's how long it would take me to get it decently presentable. You can easily tell which side of the bedroom is Andrew's and which is mine. My side is the side that looks exactly like all my college dorm rooms looked. It has much nicer furniture now, of course, but you'd never notice underneath all of my crap, so there is no difference really. At least I keep the sheets clean.

·More Business Stuff·

I can't express how sleepy I am right now. If I were to lay down right now, I'd be out in about ten seconds.

Andrew's parents and sister arrive tomorrow, so tonight I have to go grocery shopping (yeah, I know I just went) for food to cook, clean the house, and just maybe have some time for the business, although I guess that's not going to work.

Last night I did some futher research on the merchant accounts/online credit card processor/shopping cart functions. I talked to a Bank of America rep. I wish I had brought the numbers to work to crunch them a bit. I'm thinking that it may be cheaper to go with godaddy.com, who did my domain name registration, but I like the idea of having an actual guy to call when I have questions or problems, rather than submitting online help requests that may take a while. Bank of America also gives you a 30-day trial to play around with the shopping cart software so I can see what it's really like. The one for godaddy.com only gives very general information, like it's "highly customizable," but I have no way of knowing for sure if it'll do exactly what I want it to do. I submitted a question to them, and they responded with the same very general terms about how it should be able to do almost anything I need for it to do. It's very likely that it will, but I'm a bit nervous to just try it blindly. I don't know. Cheaper or better service? Not sure which way it's going to go, because once I have it set up, maybe I won't need service as much any more, and I'll be stuck with higher bills? Decisions!

This business is going to cost me approximately $350 in fixed monthly expenses. It's dirt cheap compared to most businesses, but it's still a little scary to go from receiving reliable, biweekly checks to figure out a way to make $350 + a decent salary in profits. I'm going to have to be very careful when setting my prices.

·Progress Report·

A while ago, I posted a "to-do" list for the business.

I am almost done with 5 items
I'm in the early stages of 7 items
And I have not done 6 items

In loose terms, I'm almost halfway there.

In the meantime, in unrelated news, I feel like crawling under my desk and curling into fetal position. Cramps are totally kicking my ass right now. It's stupid.

·Busy, Busy·

Yesterday I installed all of the software I'm going to need to the business onto both the PC and the laptop. I'll be taking the laptop with me for weekend trips so that I can work on things for a few hours here and there, even while I'm out, that way, I won't lose time since every weekend until August will be packed. The beginning of August will not be attainable for this reason, but I am committing myself to being 100% by the end of August. I just have to put the final touches on all the prep work for now. I'm working with an insurance agent, I'm working with a bank, and I'm researching high speed internet connections for home. I'll place the order for the machine sometime this week or early next week. I can't wait.

DMB will be performing at Red Rocks in Colorado in September. I'm so tempted, but it would be so stupid for me to spend that money and time when I'm trying to get this off the ground. Ugh...but I wanna!!

Yesterday I went to the grocery store because we were almost completely, 100% wiped out in the food department. The total bill...$310!! That HAS to be a personal record. Wow.

·Scattered·

I have been feeling so exhausted and scattered lately. I keep trying to do something, to think about something, to type something, and I just can't. I feel like my brain can't sustain anything for more than a minute. I keep starting emails to people, research something, whatever, and I just shut down. I feel so frustrated. I'm not going to have a moment to myself to recuperate whatsoever. No free weekends coming up. My evenings are filled with business-related things now. I don't know. I don't know how I'm going ot handle it. I feel like I need a day off. I need just one single day to sleep in and not have to do anything and not have to think about anything. I have zero attention span and zero energy right now, and it's driving me insane.

Hopefully things will slow down for you soon and all worries will be gone:)

·Business Strategies·

I loved the laser. Loved it. I can't wait to buy it. I can buy it this week if I want to. I just need to rearrange the extra room in the house, and I'll place the order! I can't wait. It's so cute and wonderful.

I also received some graphics software I had ordered. I can begin to play around with some designs. When I order the machine, I'll order some of the raw materials and begin practicing. This business thing is being kicked into high gear now. I expect to be fully operational by August. I'm so excited!

In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my job. I have several little things to take care of between now and the time I go live that will require me missing work. I don't know whether to tell work my plans or not. I also don't know when to leave my job. Should I quit as soon as I start or should I try to juggle both until the business takes off? Difficult decisions to make. We have enough money to handle time without my income, but just because I have that option, should I spend that money? I can't wait to leave my job, and I want to feel like I can devote 100% to the business once it's running, but is it smart to spend money I don't have to be spending when the future perhaps isn't so certain?

Anyway, we had a lovely weekend. Friday was my parents' anniversary. Yesterday was Father's Day. It was nice to spend the weekend down there, even though I realized that from now on, we don't have a single free weekend until August. Andrew's parents are coming this weekend, the following is 4th of July, after that my cousins from Venezuela are coming, and then it's John and Hannah's wedding. We're booked solid. This is another reason this having to work full time during the day is annoying. Andrew seems to think I can still pull off starting by August by working weekday nights. I'm not so sure. We'll see about that.

·Colors·

I checked my blog from home yesterday and found that the colors on that screen look way different than the ones on this screen. Here, they're like dusty rose and brownish olive tones. At home, it looked more grey and drab. I didn't like it in the grey tones. So if any of you are looking at this and it's grey, it's not my idea of pretty. The colors on my screen here at work make it look nice and pretty.

·RIP, Favorite White Shirt·

This morning, I ironed my pants and then unplugged the iron. As I was about to put on my shirt, I noticed it was a tad wrinkly, so I decided I would plug it back in quickly and just give it a quick once over. I didn't change the heat setting, figuring it had cooled down enough by now. I was wrong. The millisecond the iron came in contact with the shirt, I heard a hiss and the shirt was stuck. The iron melted a hole in my most favorite, favorite shirt. It was a beautiful, white, sleeveless, 100% nylon Kenneth Cole shirt that was so light and comfortable that it was perfect for looking clasy even in the summer when you want to wear your crappy stuff. I LOVED this shirt. LOVED it. I loved it so much that I screamed when I saw the hole and kept swallowing the lump in my throat. It was only out of principle that I wouldn't allow myself to cry over clothing, because that shirt was loved. I went and showed it to Andrew and asked him to comfort me. I was in mourning. I still can't believe it. I'm now wearing a good, but inferior white shirt. :(

·NPR and PBS·

I know I'm a nerd, but not a day goes by where I don't turn to one of these as a source of information. Shows like Morning Edition and All Things Considered on NPR and Bill Maher on PBS deliver the news like no one else. With all of the 24 hour news stations we have, you'd think that we would be more informed now than ever. Yet, you can watch CNN and Fox News for an hour and not learn about anything more than the latest lack of new information on the disappearance of Natallee Holloway in Aruba or seeing the same clip of Michael Jackson waving with his body guard shielding him from the evil sun. Every now and then they pretend to deliver legitimate, hard hitting news. There'll be some political controversy, but instead of discussing the issue, they'll bravely show balance by inviting a Democratic and a Republican congressman on to drill in their talking points into our head. Sometimes they'll fit in a short headline about something of importance to the globe, but then they go right back to their sensationalism.

NPR and PBS are not like this at all. Since they are not ratings driven, they have no other motivation than to inform. When there is a political controversy, instead of inviting two bickering Senators who have a political stake in every carefully crafted word they utter, they invite real analysts, scholars, and experts to discuss the issue. It's amazing. They don't yell at each other. They don't sling the mud around. They conceed points, elaborate on gray areas, and give you more to think about.

One of my favorite examples of the true informative value of NPR is in regards to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. It never really came up in any of my history classes (and I loved history!) All I knew about it for the longest time was that both people felt they had a claim on the same land. Eventually I learned a little bit about the Zionist movement, etc., but I never knew much beyond that. When the conflict was at it's height a while ago, NPR did this weeklong series where they'd explain the history of the conflict. I learned so much and learned exactly why the hate and why now. I learned the role that European nations had in creating the problem. I learned the role the modern Israeli government had in intensifying the conflict. I learned why these Palestinians are so violent. I can't believe that in all the years I considered myself well informed because I heard about every bombing incident at a cafe in Jerusalem when I didn't really know everything about why it was going on. With 24 hours in a day, CNN never went into the history, geography, and sociology of it all. Yet, in a few minutes a day for five days, I was able to get a much deeper understanding than ever before.

And let's not even get started on how I grew up on Sesame Street!

And now, NPR and PBS are being threatened. Congress wants to pull the plug on them. I plan on writing my representatives in Congress to tell them exactly what public broadcasting as meant to me and why it is so vital. Every day we get more and more thrown at us, but every day, I feel we are becoming less informed as citizens of the world. It's a shame more people don't realize the value that truly informative, not just entertaining, news gives us.

OK, so I found a bunch of photos with great color schemes that might look cool for my business website. Several of them are similar, but there are probably three or four distinct looks.

Palette 1: A Tuscan vineyard. The colors are pretty. I'd use the subtle colors in the hazy background for the majority of the page and the bright colors of the foreground as accents.

Palette 2: A Tuscan villa. The walls of the house would be the main color of the background, and again, the other colors of the sky, the hill, the roof, the road, and the trees would be the accents.

Palette 3: An entrance. I'm not wild about the color of the flowers, maybe as a rare accent or two on the page, but the majority would be the other colors. I love that terracota color of the steps, the green ferns, and both the sunny and the shady parts of the wall.

Palette 4: A garden. In this instance, the pink flowers don't bother me. There are a bunch of bright colors on here, but they play together nicely, I think.

Palette 5: Foggy Road. The colors in this picture are all cool and serene. Instead of bright accents, the accents would be dark, but it might play out very elegantly.

Palette 7: Bright Summer Beach. (I deleted 6 and I can't rename it!) This palette has some very bold colors. Most of the website would probably be the color of the crests of the waves, and the other colors as accents.

Palette 8: Cool Beach. This beach has softer colors than the previous ones. Most of the colors would be the sand, the crests, and the clouds with the darker colors accenting.

Palette 9: Pebbles. The colors of all the different rocks are very cool looking. It might be fun to make a website that incorpoartes not only all of those colors, but the water, the sandier color, and the sky as well. The all look so nice together.

Palette 11: Apples. This palette is slightly more monochromatic than the others, but it might make for a sleek look.

Palette 12: Salmon Salad. Very artistic dish there! I love all of the cool colors, especially with the blueberry accents. I love the placemat, the green napkins, and the bright salad.

Palette 13: Citrus Salad. Another very artistic dish, but this time, I lot more colorful and vibrant.

Anyone with some time on their hands have an opinion?

So many pretty pics to look at!

I really like #3. The slight red accent colors would work nicely with the other colors.

I also like #9. The browns and blue would look sharp and professional.

And I like #13 too but I'm not too sure how well the brown, green orange color combo would work well on a website even though it would look vibrant, exciting and eye catching.

I would try to stay away from pink (even though its my fav color). To me, pink (or pink accents) doesn't make something look professional and it might make everything look too 'girly'. Just my opinion though.

Good luck!

I agree #3 is the best.

After redesigning my blog yesterday afternoon, I went home all inspired to start building my business website. Right now, I have an extremely cheesy message on the site saying that I'm coming soon. So I worked on a thing or two, and I became so into it all that I actually dreamt I was working in html. Weirdness.

I like the current color scheme of this blog, but I'm trying to come up with an interesting yet professional palatte for my business. I liked the colors at www.asid.org. I'm thinking something along those lines. I like the earthy, subdued colors with a few bright accent colors thrown in. I just read a nice tip, actually. Find a well done photograph you really like that inspires the feeling you want to give people. Select a few colors from it, and you have your palatte. Sounds like a fun assignment! Hmm...let's see what I come up with.

Most of the websites I saw that had similar products to mine were pretty cheesy looking. I think I can out class them in design at least. I think I have the ability to create a pretty sharp looking website. I just hope I'm able to figure out how the heck to integrate the shopping cart, the credit card processor, and the security certificates. I hope I'm not getting in over my head.

·Welcome·

Alright, I figured it out! Welcome to my new blog! I'm going to be making some neat little graphic for the banner so it doesn't look so bare. It's a work in progress, but I like the general look of it. I'm so proud of myself for figuring out how to do this thing!

I'm pretty sick of the current look of my blog. I've tried several times over the past months to change it, but I can't quite find one that suits me. I was newly inspired by Jennifer's new look, and I found one today that is perfect, but I have to figure out how to host the background image. I don't know if there is anyway I can do that for free. Hmm.

I just got off the phone with my doctor. She was going to call me back after doing some research on my condition to find out if there has every been another case like mine. Well, not only has she never seen a patient with my symptoms, but none of the other five partners in her office have, and there is no published report on any cases similar to mine that she was able to locate. Wow. Why do I always get the weirdest thing possible?? Lucky me.

·Primera Clase Esta Noche·

Andrew starts Spanish classes tonight! He's so cute. I love that he's doing this. He's been trying to teach himself for a while and actually doing a pretty good job with it, but he needs some classes to get past the plateau he's reached. He has a decently sized vocabulary, but he needs to learn grammatical structures, especially verb conjugations. I'm not really one to teach him, unfortuantely. My schooling in Spanish ended in second grade, so any speaking ability I have beyond the level of an 8 year old I just learned from hearing. I can't explain why I used the endings I do with certain words. All I know is that it's what sounds right. We want to raise our kids bilingual, so I think he's really wanting to get on the ball so he doesn't get left out of conversations the kids and I may have!

Andrew's sister got me the DVD set for The Office (the original BBC version) for my birthday. We've been watching an episode nearly every night since. Holy crap, it's the funniest thing! I'm so sad that we only have about four episodes left. I LOVE this show. It's hilarious, but even from the point of view of an actor, I adore seeing all the tiny nuances the actors bring to each character. Genius! David Brent is the man...closely followed by Keith!

I have a renewed fascination with David Gray lately. Good news: I found out that he has a CD coming out in September. Better news: For the first time in a few years now, he'll be touring the U.S. Bad news: He is coming NO WHERE near me. :( Man, I so wish I could see him. I adore him so.

With all of the crap that needs to get done to start a business, it's a wonder how many businesses there are and how many of them fail. There are a million chances throughout this whole crazy process that make you stop and think "Whoa! Maybe this won't work. Maybe I'm in over my head." I push myself along because I have to be confident in myself and because I have to give this a shot. Part of me wonders, though, if that is exactly what leads to the failed business.

Here are the things that I need to get done between now and the time I open my virtual doors in no particular order:

    1. File account with Department of Revenue
    2. Research and set up a bank account
    3. Research best health insurance option
    4. Research and compile list of potential wholesellers
    5. Design logo
    6. Design website
    7. Research credit card processors
    8. Research shopping cart/e-commerce software to integrate into website
    9. Purchase the actual machine!
    10. Practice on the machine
    11. Find ways to advertise online
    12. Rearrange office to accomodate business
    13. Set-up storage site
    14. File papers to run business out of the home
    15. Calculate prices
    16. Get a faster, more secure internet connection at home
    17. Get a new business phone number

·Book Baton·

Alright, so I almost feel like a poser answering this. Well, almost. The thing is I do read. I love books. I hit my bookshelf several times a week. I have four shelves of books that I haven't been able to part with. The thing is, I'm not big on novels, which is what most "readers" are into. Like I said before, I'm more into non-fiction, plays, and poetry. I appreciate good literature, but I rarely have the attention span for them. I'm much more likely to wonder about a certain topic, look it up somewhere and read all about it. I'm much more likely to sit and read a few poems for the mental imagery stimulation. I'm much more likely to plow through a good play in one sitting and imagine how I would stage it, or if there is a character I like, how I would play it. Fiction doesn't seem as accesible to me for some reason. I have enjoyed reading several novels, but it's not the norm for me. Anyway, without further delay, here is my non-poser book survey from Shep.

Name three books on your book shelf. One from each end and one from the middle.
From first shelf: Uta Hagen's Respect for Acting
From second shelf: 100 Selected Works of e. e. cummings
From bottom shelf: The Globe Illustrated Shakespeare Complete Works

What reading material is in your bathroom?
    None, actually! :)

    Favorite authors and why.
If playwrights are acceptable, Tennessee Williams. I love the complexity he gives his protagonists and the beautifully delicate tragedy of his plots. He wrote some of the greatest female roles in modern theatre. His plays make for some of the best reading because even his stage directions, which are usually just descriptions as a guideline for actors, directors, and designers, are incredibly poetic.

    Least favorite authors and why.
Once again, I have to answer with a playwright. Bertolt Brecht. I don't know if it's because it's translated from German, but his plays are driest reads ever. Way too demonstrative. I've performed two of his shows, and I've never felt like I've molded a true character beyond being a tool for his message. You study him in theatre because of the genius behind his "alienation effect," meaning he intentionally did not want to draw the audience in so that they could look at his main political point more logically. I'm not into that at all. I need to be able to dive into something and feel like I have some stake in the story or in the characters.

    What author is over rated?
I don't know. Steinbeck maybe. Look at me pulling out an actual author! We read the Grapes of Wrath in 10th grade. While I get the epic quality of the story, I just didn't enjoy reading it. It just seemed to plod along, which I guess was the point of it. Eh, I don't know. I'm only basing it on one book, so what do I know.

Would you (have you) picked up a woman (or man) in a bookstore?
Not now (obviously), but I think it would be a great place for it. If you are int he same section, you probably have similar interests. I've always gone for the intellectual types, so I'd be much more likely to pick up a guy there than at a bar.

Do you eat while you read? If so what’s your food of choice?
    No.

Name one book you’d recommend for someone searching for meaning or insight or inspiration.
Ok, I'm no fun. Once again, I have to go with a play (Sorry, that's almost all I know!) Thornton Wilder's Our Town. This play typically is not done justice because it is overproduced by high schoolers and the like because it requires a very minimalist (i.e. cheap) set. However, the philosophy of the book is so beautiful it makes me cry. I may be biased since I've played the lead twice, but it really is so touching. It's about the meaning of life, why we're here, etc. The language Wilder uses is incredible, talking about the vastness of the universe, the infinity of the stars, and then turning right around and talking about what one would consider the most mundane of human activities. The juxtaposition just heightens the importance of it all and tells us that we have our place among the stars, a point that is finally brought home in the final scene. Can you tell I love this play?? I could recite the whole thing for you if you'd like...

Name one book you’d recommend for a day on the beach or a rainy day in the house.
Ok, ok, I'm going to finally go for a novel here. The last one I read that I truly enjoyed is Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye. The first half was better than the second half, I thought, but still. This comes to mind because this is the book I read during our week at the cottage on Lake Ontario last summer. I would just sit by the shore and read this for hours.

Do you judge a book by its cover?
I'd like to think not, but I guess I would. I don't think I'd be interested in any of those ones that look like they came from a grocery store like a Michael Crichton book or something. I definitely need more than a pop novel to keep my interest. A novel has to be very poetic for me to enjoy it.

In the bookstore, what section do you head to first?
I love the big picture books of all the different countries. I just love looking through those. I can never leave without hitting the kids' section as well!

Ok, so that's mine. I hope it wasn't a cop out using plays and all, but I consider it to be true literature! I've read probably five times as many plays as I've seen produced, so I know they can make great reading! I now pass the book baton to...

·*Slightly* Narrowed Field·

What do the following places have in common?

    Albuquerque, NM
    Baltimore, MD
    Chicago, IL
    Gainesville, FL
    Houston, TX
    La Jolla, CA
    Los Angeles, CA
    Miami, FL
    Minneapolis, MN
    Morgantown, WV
    New Haven, CT
    New Orleans, LA
    Oklahoma City, OK
    Providence, RI
    Seattle, WA
    Tucson, AZ

They are all part of the new and improved list of places Andrew and I could be living next year. It doesn't get more more diverse than that.

create your own personalized map of the USA

The most likely places are still probably Baltimore and Providence since they have the top programs, and Andrew is a top kind of guy. Still, any of them are possible. The place I'd least like to be is New Orleans. It just seems like such a sketchy place to live. Some of those places are so random I don't even know what to think of them. Morgantown? Albuquerque? Who the hell knows?

Anyone have any plugs on any of the places on the list?

·Books...·

Oh, and Shep passed the "Book Baton" over to me. I kept meaning to take a look at my bookshelf over the weekend to answer it all, but I forgot. I'll probably get to it tonight. I'm not a big reader of fiction like most edumacated people are, but I'm hitting my bookshelf all of the time. I'm a big non-fiction fan as well as a lover of plays. I think half of my four-shelved book case is comprised of those skinny little plays.

·Productive·

This weekend was actually pretty productive. I got a lot done for the business. I think I'm actually going to own the machine by next week. Exciting! Though there are a million different products I have dreamt up, I'm going to have to start off a bit small, especially since I'm not prepared to keep a huge inventory. I'm going to start off focusing on glassware and things for the table for now. Wine glasses, mugs, coasters, champagne flutes, napkin rings, pitchers, etc. Maybe later on, it would be easy for me to add Christmas ornaments for the holidays. After I'm doing well enough in that, I can expand to all of the other products I have envisioned. I'm thinking that for now, I may be able to operate out of our extra bedroom if I rent a small storage space for the inventory. We have two places less than a quarter mile away, so it would be easy to run back and forth as needed.

I also started doing some research on the possible places we'll live next year. I wish I knew where we'd be already. I have to wait all the way until February before we find out. So frustrating!

Friday night, we just stayed in. Saturday, some friends invited us out to sushi, and who was I to say no?? DAMN it was the BEST sushi I've had yet. Mmm! Geez, can't get enough. I'd be happy going there every other day if I could afford it! Yesterday was one of Andrew's friends' birthday, so we went over and hung out. Overall, a relatively low key weekend, but it was nice.

·O2B·

I have the stupidest song stuck in my head, and I'm going insane.

    (Cue children's voices)
    "Summer Camp, summer camp
    O2B Summer Camp
    SUMMER CAMP!"
    *Doo doo doo doo doo*
(Repeat with some unintelligble verses in between)

This is to the tune of the equally stupid "Lollipop" song. There is a mega day care center here in town called O2B Kids who, by all accounts, has a summer camp, summer camp, O2B summer camp SUMMER CAMP going on this summer...camp.

    Check it out!

Awesome. Way to start out. The center is not supposed to hit us, it's supposed to hit the panhandle. But all the weather people are saying that the people on the east of the storm (i.e. rest of the state of Florida) are going to have it just as bad. Woohoo. We're not going to see the sun again until *maybe* Monday, possibly Tuesday. Awesome.

Ok, here the rest of the country thinks that us Floridians are morons for sticking around this sweltering hurricane magnet. I swear I never remember things like this. I grew up in Puerto Rico and in Florida, and my first hurricane was last year (and my second too. Ugh)

So, hurricane season just started a week and a half ago, and we're already up and at 'em. Maybe I should start the countdown to November 30 again.

I'm feeling slightly better today in that I no longer have a fever. I still feel like I swallowed a bucketful of thumbtacks, though. Ugh. I slept terribly last night too. I was supposed to go down to Orlando today for a baby shower, but I'm not going anywhere.

·Uncharacteristically X-Rated Post·

Ok, this is being talked about on Nancies now. When I'm not catastrophically ill, I actually love giving a blow job. Very weird to some, I know. I don't know what it is. Sometimes I prefer to give them than to do just about anything else. It's probably something weird psychologically about me, but it's not something Andrew is going to recommend I get help for any time soon. ;) Don't know why, I just love them. It's very weird.

Since I've had a sore throat for a few days now, I haven't given any in a few days, so I actually had a dream about it last night. I love it that much. That was it. That was my entire dream. I was giving a blow job for what seemed like hours. Nothing else going on in the dream besides that except for me thinking to myself that I wish there were blowjob competitions, because I'd so win.

Yes, I do love them. Like I said, when I'm not horrifically ill as I have been of late, I think I give them more days than not. If we're sitting there watching TV on the couch lazily, I'll just go for it. If I'm not quite sleepy enough to fall asleep immediately once we're in bed, I'll go down for a quickie. I don't even expect anything in return. Giving is gift enough. When we're going into a full out session, I insist things be even, of course, but when it's just a BJ, it's treat enough.

Not into 69s. I'll do them for a little bit so we feel all kinky, but I actually don't like them too much. They distract from the task at hand. I take it so seriously.

Weird thing to bring up, but seriously, I love them so much it's like a favorite hobby. I could say so much more on the issue, but I don't want to get all smutty on my blog here. Most girls think I'm crazy when I finally confess about my passion for it...but they come back for pointers eventually...and they thank me later!

"Name and address with held."

Bowchickkabowbow my friend. I think your hubby must be the most lucky guy ever.

I'm not necessarily suggesting anything here; I'm just bringing two concepts together...

Concept 1: You like giving blow jobs.
Concept 2: You want an acting career.

It seems to me that those two things just naturally go together. At the very least, I imagine producers would be lining up just for the chance to help you produce an instructional video. I know I'd buy a copy of it...except I'd probably start to watch it and have to stop because it wouldn't be right. It'd be like one of those things you daydream about, like shooting your boss, but if you ever actually got the chance to do it, you couldn't because it would be wrong. Or something.

·Hollywood Upstairs Medical College·

So I had already put in a request with my insurance to change my primary care doctor. They told me the change would not be effective until July 1, so until then, I should continue seeing my current one. I did not think this would be a problem since I has an astounding five weeks of health under my belt. I was on a roll, man.

Well, here I go, getting horribly and utterly sick again. Fevers, sore throat, swollen glands, pain on my right side. All over again. I called the infectious disease specialist in Orlando to see if this was a relapse. He said it was "unlikely" since relapses typically occur at least months later, not five weeks. In retrospect, I should have pointed out to him that nothing that happens with my health is ever "likely." It was recommended that I visit my primary care to rule out the possibility of strep throat. I thought I'd be smart when I called into the clinic and ask for a different doctor this time, rather than the other two who had screwed me over so badly before. Well, things didn't go much better with this one. She actually suggested HIV as a possibility. Great. Tack that on to my other temporary diagnoses of auto-immune disorders, appendicitis, cancer, etc., etc. Where did these idiots get their degrees?? Why do they even mention these things?? The infectious disease specialist who I saw has an emphasis on HIV postivive patients. He came up with my diagnosis immediately and the blood tests confirmed it. You think he might have noticed something if I was HIV positive myself?? I think so. At least I trust him way more than I trust these idiots. Pisses me off so much the hell I've had to go through. I feel miserable. Absolutely miserable. And I feel so helpless. When am I actually going to be better? What is going on?

So anyway, had a strep test done. I may or may not know on Saturday what I need to do from there.

ps...100 cool points to whoever gets the reference in the title...

·Tonys·

So I watched the Tonys last night, and I watched how they kept cutting everyone's speech short. Sometimes, the music would swell, and the person would wrap up with a final sentence or two. Sometimes, the person was just completely cut off by having the mic shut off. I understand why this happens, and I do get annoyed by overly long, boring acceptance speeches. However, at the same time, I am thrilled by these award shows because I feel myself living vicariously though these people. I picture myself up there, receiving the award, and I realize what a huge deal it is. These people work way, way, way harder than I do. If it was their first time, of course they're excited, babbling, and nervous. I can't say I'd be much better than they are. I think I blogged about my potential award acceptance speech before, but I realize that the list of thank yous does, indeed, need to be long and boring. I think of what it would take for me to get a Tony. I'd have to have an agent in NYC to send me to an audition with a casting director who decides to give me a shot. In order to raise some eyebrows, I have to have a great role (which comes from a great script) and a gifted director that knows how to showcase it well. In order for the production to even be on Broadway in the first place, it has to be backed by all sorts of investors and producers. Even with the elements I can control, meaning my own acting, I still need people to react to, so the actors around me have to be fantastic as well, or else whatever reactions I have would seem flat and forced. That's a lot of people who would be responsible for my success, not to mention the people I already know and love who have put up with me over the years. I have to say, I wouldn't know how to avoid a boring acceptance speech myself. I used to hate when actors would thank agents, investors, etc., but really, they are the ones who truly made that award possible. Can't get around that.

One thing I do know, whatever dress I would wear would kick ass. There were some gorgeous dresses last night. I want to be nominated for a big award just so I can feel alright about buying an extravagantly beautiful dress. This coming from a girl who hates shopping and has no idea how to put herself together on a daily basis. There is just something about those gowns that brings out the girlie girl in me!

·Dancing Queen·

I had quite the weekend. Friday night, Andrew and I just stayed in and watched Tommy Boy. I had never seen it. Hilarious!! We did some house cleaning on Saturday morning. Lane arrived, and shortly after that, we headed to dinner to meet up with some friends. Andrew set up a birthday party for me bacause just a few weeks before, I had been complaining about how I never have any birthday celebrations with my friends because of the time of year. So he was really sweet and decided to do something about it! :)

We ate at a Japanese steakhouse that was soooo good! Mmm! We came back to our house for about an hour to have some cake (Andrew got me a Rainbow Bright cake!!) and watch the basketball game. We then headed out to the bowling alley. I already had a few drinks in me when I realized for the first time that the bar there also had a liquor license. I had a few free birthday drinks sent my way that I just couldn't refuse! Well, when I drink, apparently the music just gets in me, and I can't help but get my groove on. There I was dancing with every bowl. Even though I was quite inebriated, I still managed to bowl a somewhat respectable game (broke three digits!). Interestingly enough, all of us women there with our men managed to beat them during BOTH games! I guess it's all in the fancy footwork I had going on. Damn I had such a good time. I could tell everyone was laughing at me, but I didn't care. Good, good time.

Yesterday, consequently, was quite possibly one of the laziest days I've ever had. We went out to brunch with Lane before she headed back to Orlando, but after that, the only time I got out of the couch was to walk Lucky around 5pm. And then that was pretty much it for the day. I watched the Tony's, which were a lot of fun. The broadcast was terrible, but I love keeping up to date of what's going on on Broadway.

This morning, I feel pretty sick. I have a sore throat, and I'm exhausted. I'm wondering if this is a relapse of my virus (my doctor warned me of this possibility. The only reason I didn't stay in today was in case I got worse. I have to be a lot more selective about sick days, not because I don't have the sick time, but because I've missed way too much recently. Not that I'm doing ANYTHING AT ALL at work, but I just need to show my face. Ugh.

As you can tell by this stupid post, I have nothing in my brain right now. I feel like just going to bed.

sounds like a fun weekend. what songs did they play that had you such a twinkle toes?

I can hardly remember. It was a good mix. I even was getting down to some new pop fluff I would not normally admit to knowing.

·Life Insurance·

My parents are flying to Venezuela tomorrow. My grandmother is in and out of the hospital. They went to visit her about 6 weeks ago. I don't think I ever posted about it, but shortly after their flight took off, one of the engines of the plane blew and they had to turn around immediately and get another plane. They told me the story very casually. I kind of freaked out. I never really thought about what it would be like to lose both of my parents just like that before. But they hardly even bring it up, so I thought to myself that maybe blowing an engine isn't as dramatic as I picture it. Well, they're flying the same airline (Aeropostal) because it's the only one that flies from the U.S. to the town where my family lives. My dad just called me to tell me the company his life insurance policy is. :( EEEKK!! I had to yell at him.

Seriously, though, the whole time they were in Venezuela last time, after finding out about the engine incident, I kept realizing how much I'd miss them. It's so expensive to call Venezuela that I wouldn't just call for the heck of it. I kept forgetting they were away and thought, "Oh, maybe I should call my mom about this..." and then remembering that they were out of the country. I imagined what it would be like to have those thoughts, but then to remember that they were no longer alive. It could have happened. The thought is terrifying. I can't imagine not being able to pick up the phone and call them ever again. I really do love my parents. I don't know what I'd do without them. Hopefully these flights now will go off without a hitch!

I hate hate hate hate to fly. Once a year my job requires me to. This year I told them to kiss my bum, I was not gonna go on that trip. (I used my young baby as a way out)

I would have had a heart attack if I had been on that plane. I already freak out enough on a plane

·And this was a Four Day Week!·

TGIF. I can't believe we had Monday off, because this has felt like a long week!

I finally got my butt in gear yesterday doing more research for the business. I'll get there, I'll get there. I probably put in two or three hours yesterday. I need to keep it up. I need to get this going. I need to keep reminding myself how great it will be to have everything up and running. I know it's going to be tons of work to run a business, but I think it's going to be so rewarding.

Andrew and I had a pretty big conversation this past weekend. We were talking with my dad about what options Andrew has for his internship year next year. He listed off different locations that have good programs, (Baltimore, Providence, Boston, San Diego, etc.) and to my surprise, he listed L.A. as one of them. I jumped up and said, "Ooh! I wouldn't mind that! I could try out my acting thing while we're there!" Both he and my dad immediately responded that we should avoid L.A. at all costs. They explained that it's hard to get a decent place to live that's affordable and not in a dangerous neighborhood, etc. I get that. I know I'd never actually want to live in L.A., but it's only one year, and I can give my wildest dream a shot so I can say I tried while Andrew completes his training for his own career. Well, I get what they were saying, but my feelings were still a bit hurt. It just bothered me that these decisions are not being thought about with my own needs in mind.

So, I brought it up to Andrew later that night. He was a great listener, as always. (The good part about being married to a psychologist! Great communication!) Anyway, we covered a lot of ground in our big Where-Do-We-Go-From-Here talk. A lot of good compromises. I love that man. Just when I find myself getting pissed off at him, he surprises me all over again with his beautiful heart. Unfortuantely, once he applies to the internship programs, he has no say whatsoever where he ends up (it's like the matching program for medical schools), but I know that the application process will be a very collaborative one. I wonder where we'll be a year from now!

I could not even think about someone else telling me where I have to live for a year. must be hard, but in the end it will be worth it.

·SuperNanny·

It was so hard to get out of bed this morning! I've been going to bed earlier the past few nights, but I'm waking up sleepier!

Now that the TV schedules have changed, we're all disoriented. I discovered that I can cook and still have time to put away laundry. Andrew discovered that he can clean the dishes and still have time to obsessed with playing Civilization. I still fit in my trashy TV, though. While folding and matching socks, I was watching SuperNanny. I don't have children, and I know being a parent is a lot harder than it looks, but man, it's incredible to see how inept some parents can be. This child had turned to a manipulative monster. Although it was a trashy TV show, Andrew approved of almost all of the parenting techniques that were recommended to the parents of this hellspawn. There were a handful of things he would not recommend (Such as approaching the child when they are punished in the time-out spot and asking, "Do you know why you're here?" etc.) Not too shabby for an exploitative television show, though.

Apparently my birthday is stretching out even longer than it has already. Andrew is planning a party for me this weekend! Lane, and possibly even Anika are driving up to Gainesville for it and everything. I feel so loved! :)

Wow. It realy is a good B-day for you. Another gold star for the hubby!! lucky girl!

You didn't know about the party this weekend? Hmmm, I'm glad I didn't say anything and spoil the surprise, because most of us have known about it for a couple weeks now. According to Andrew, the over/under on the number of drinks you'll need to have in you before you start singing karaoke is 4 1/2. I'm betting the over. :)

·Complete Randomness·

    1. My desk is a complete mess. I don't have the energy or focus to clean it up and organize it. It's really terrible, but I just don't see myself getting to it any time soon.

    2. I was carrying that same three month old baby a little bit ago. I'm beginning to think that she does actually like me. She was giggling and smiling on my lap, but when another professor picked her up and carried her, she started SCREAMING!! He finally gave up and gave her back to me and I calmed her down within two minutes. Who knew I had the magic touch? I stroked her hair and shushed in her ear, and all was restored.

    3. I used to follow politics very closely for a while, but in the past year, I've become so disheartened that all of it disgusts me. I don't know how anyone can take pride in belonging to either party. The only defense I hear for each party is pointing out what's wrong with the other. The parties are so full of contradictions, it makes me jaw just drop to see how many issues that are not black and white fall coldly along party lines when they are voted on in Congress.

    4. I don't get another day off of work until 4th of July. It's not so long from now, but I haven't had a whole month of five days work weeks since February.

    5. I'm looking up health insurance options for when I'm able to quit this job and focus on my business. It's tough to look at these premiums and what they cover after having such great, cheap coverage. For less than $40 a month, I only pay $10 per doctor visit and per medication. Now, I'm looking at over $100 a month, plus a $500-1000 deductible, plus 20% co-pay for doctor visits and generic drugs. Ugh.

    6. Christopher Cross's "Sailing" just came on my Launchcast player. I remember loving this song as a kid. For some really weird reason, I want to say that the animatronic animals at Showbiz Pizza sang it once when I went. That can't possibly be right, can it? That's be too weird. They did sing happy birthday to me once when I was in third grade, though. I remember that one quite clearly!

    7. Goo Goo Dolls' "Name" just came on now. I used to love this song. Actually, I never quite got to hating Goo Goo Dolls. I know they're kind of a joke, but it's my little secret that I actually like their songs. I saw them in concert once at Disney. I remember when I was dating Will (Andrew's old roommate who cheated on me etc., etc.), that "Iris" song (you know the "I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand...") was in the movie City of Angles, which is what we went to see on our first date. Everytime I heard that song, I got all mushy. A few months later, it came on the radio while we were in the car. I was about to say something mushy when he goes, "Ugh, I hate this song!" I was so disappointed, but at the same time, part of me wanted to laugh so bad!

    8. Most of the pretty birds have gone back up north by now. We only have a handful of different ones left here.

    9. I had a dream last night that I was giving a campus tour of Davidson like I used to. It was kind of fun to walk around campus again in my dream. I loved giving those tours for some reason, even though they required me getting up early on Saturday mornings for absolutely nothing in return. I was a pretty good guide, though! I even remembered in my dream that Davidson was founding in 1837!

    10. I had my first bad sushi yesterday. Even mediocre sushi has thrilled me up to this point. It was so bad, I can't stop thinking about it. It wasn't the quality. It was that I ordered very poorly. I don't know what I was thinking. I saw this tamago roll that sounded so good. Everything in it was great, but I didn't know what tamago was. I figured it was some kind of fish. Umm, no. It was some kind of really, really weird egg/tofu thing that was bright yellow and so gross. I forced myself to eat it, but it was so disgusting. It was so gross that I keep thinking about it even today. It's enough for me not to crave sushi for now. I just think back to that. *shiver* I don't know how I managed to eat all of it when it was making my gag. What an unenjoyable birthday lunch.

·The Rest of my Happy-To-You·

My day at work actually sucked pretty bad. It was the busiest yet this summer, trying to get a big scholarship package in. Big headache dealing with the most computer illiterate individual on earth. I couldn't figure out how to articulate any more clearly that if she doesn't have a CD burner in her computer, that she can't burn a CD.

Anyway, it all faded away when I got home. Not only was the coffee table lined with presents for me, but Andrew had put up streamers and a banner that read Happy Birthday (those are all of my presents after I opened them), and was cooking me dinner. He made shish kabobs from scratch. They were so yummy! Then, top it all off, he got me a cheesecake flavored ice cream cake! Mmm! Does the man know the way to my heart or what? Great day!

What a great hubby you have. Mike (although very good about stuff) would have never done that well!
